John Selman,
A necessity for any private pilot or commercial pilot。 Aviation enthusiasts will find this to be a stepping stone toward a career or hobby in piloting aircraft。
Dylan Zee,
Too long。 Too many rules。 Makes me sad
Layne Young,
Maybe I should start buying these digitally :/
Katherine Jensen,
My favorite FARs were the ones about being a private pilot
Vic,
Highly informational, and not as boring as I’d thought it’d be。
Story,
I have found the Great American Novel。The setting is elaborate, detailed, and thorough--this book's worldbuilding is on the level of Tolkien or Brandon Sanderson。 The complexities of the universe live and breathe through every page。 The characters are complex, compelling, and morally gray; no protagonist can be identified, only an endless list of antiheroes。 And say what you will about that kind of story, but I find it realistic and emotionally engaging。 This book gives insight into the internal I have found the Great American Novel。The setting is elaborate, detailed, and thorough--this book's worldbuilding is on the level of Tolkien or Brandon Sanderson。 The complexities of the universe live and breathe through every page。 The characters are complex, compelling, and morally gray; no protagonist can be identified, only an endless list of antiheroes。 And say what you will about that kind of story, but I find it realistic and emotionally engaging。 This book gives insight into the internal conflicts of our society and modern world。 It explores America's people with the most sincere, heart-wrenching approach I've ever seen。And that brings us to the true appeal of this book: not the setting, textured though it may be, or the characters, as nuanced as they are。 The power of this book lies in its themes of morality and justice, in its exploration of principles, obligation, and agency。 Nowhere else are the fundamental ideals of responsibility and safety better conveyed; nowhere else is the dichotomy of autonomy and duty explored so thoroughly。 This book is a work of art full of emotion and justice。That deep exploration of responsibility and choice has impacted me profoundly。 It has made me question many of my decisions and dreams; it's made me question my purpose in life, how I define myself, and what I aspire to be。 Every time I read this book, something in my chest constricts, and I become so overwhelmed with emotion that I find myself on the verge of tears。I wish I could give this book five stars。 My heart yearns to give it the perfect rating that it deserves。 Alas, this masterpiece falls short in one regretful aspect: it has a truly abhorrent number of plot holes。 There is no internal consistency to the story。 It just doesn't make any sense。Nonetheless, otherwise, this is a masterpiece。 This book changed my life。 I hope it will do the same for you。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 While the wide range of topics covered can, at points, make the reader inclined to completely give up their dream of obtaining their private pilot's license, the FAR/AIM 2023 edition is quite a masterpiece。 With its expansive subject matter, including a regulation pertaining to the permissible items one may drop from an airplane (see Part 91。15 "Dropping objects。"), the reader will remain engaged throughout each of the 1,066 pages。 I debated shelving this in "Currently reading," as I feel I will While the wide range of topics covered can, at points, make the reader inclined to completely give up their dream of obtaining their private pilot's license, the FAR/AIM 2023 edition is quite a masterpiece。 With its expansive subject matter, including a regulation pertaining to the permissible items one may drop from an airplane (see Part 91。15 "Dropping objects。"), the reader will remain engaged throughout each of the 1,066 pages。 I debated shelving this in "Currently reading," as I feel I will never actually manage to digest all of the words contained within the dazzling blue cover, but my "Read" shelf will have to suffice。 10/10 recommend。 。。。more
Jerimiah Baldwin,
I have so much appreciation for these regulations。 It's wonderful to be part of the community of aviators who largely hold an unusually high regard for a product from a federal agency。 I have so much appreciation for these regulations。 It's wonderful to be part of the community of aviators who largely hold an unusually high regard for a product from a federal agency。 。。。more
Timber,
I laughed, I cried, I’m waiting on the edge of my seat to see what happens next…AIM 7-7-4。 You’re welcome。 🤣
Layne Young,
Useful information on regulations。 Definitely tab it up。
Derrick Dubois,

Timber,
Completely dry legalese, but fairly easy to find answers to questions。
Alexander Taylor,
This book got me high。
Nicolas A。,
Clear and simple language on a complicated matter, concise, good index and content tables for references。

Ok。。。 it is necessary for work, but a total snoozer。
Susan Molloy,
While I had a lot of time at work, I opened this book every chance I got and read it。 It was educational and definately a must-read for us aviation professionals。
Greg Jenkins,
If you are into federal regulations for aviation, this is the book for you。 This book helped me get my pilots license so I'm a big fan of it。 If you are into federal regulations for aviation, this is the book for you。 This book helped me get my pilots license so I'm a big fan of it。 。。。more

Wagger81,
Terribly boring, but good information。
Matt Hammer,
I'm not sure why this book gets so much hate。 Yes, it's reference material and not a novel。 Yes, it's pretty dry。 But the information it contains is quite clear and invaluable to those of us lucky enough to fly airplanes。 I'm not sure why this book gets so much hate。 Yes, it's reference material and not a novel。 Yes, it's pretty dry。 But the information it contains is quite clear and invaluable to those of us lucky enough to fly airplanes。 。。。more
Paul Belanger,
Um, yeah, what can I really say about this reference material? If you are a pilot and have never read the AIM all the way through, then you should。 There's a lot of material in here and everyone can learn something。 Um, yeah, what can I really say about this reference material? Cover to cover。 For Piper Cherokee and further knowledge。 I appreciate sop's and protocol。 Wish I could afford flight time。 Cover to cover。 For Piper Cherokee and further knowledge。 I appreciate sop's and protocol。 Wish I could afford flight time。 。。。more
Justin Bowen,
The FAR is necessary, but quite boring。 The AIM section is actually good to read through and has some important info for all pilots。
Smellsofbikes,
It's not interesting, but it's sure comprehensive, all 1100 pages of it。 I noticed this time that one of the drawings of take-off into high terrain (aka how-to-not-smash-into-mountain) has a mountain with a bunch of outsize Bullwinkle Moose characters drawn on it right in the path of the plane, which I thought was pretty funny。 It's not interesting, but it's sure comprehensive, all 1100 pages of it。 I noticed this time that one of the drawings of take-off into high terrain (aka how-to-not-smash-into-mountain) has a mountain with a bunch of outsize Bullwinkle Moose characters drawn on it right in the path of the plane, which I thought was pretty funny。 。。。more
Adrika,
I love the FAR AIM。 Everything is very systematically written, in a language that's easy to understand。 Rules and law never felt easier。 The Indian DGCA must learn a thing or two from the FAA and develop a book a precise and easy to read as the FAR AIM。 Very user friendly。 I love the FAR AIM。 Everything is very systematically written, in a language that's easy to understand。 Rules and law never felt easier。 The Indian DGCA must learn a thing or two from the FAA and develop a book a precise and easy to read as the FAR AIM。 Very user friendly。 。。。more
John Peterson,
Not interesting at all。 Very dry。。。 Flying regulations can put you right to sleep。。。 ;-)
Bobby,
Whoever wrote the description for this book on goodreads is on crack。 Granted, it's not a novel but a reference book。 Unfornately it's nearly impenetrable for anyone but seasoned veterens。 It's written entirely in legal jargon rather than plain english, and the system by which it's indexed is non-standard and arbitrary。 Whoever wrote the description for this book on goodreads is on crack。 Granted, it's not a novel but a reference book。 Unfornately it's nearly impenetrable for anyone but seasoned veterens。 It's written entirely in legal jargon rather than plain english, and the system by which it's indexed is non-standard and arbitrary。 。。。more
